Environmental and Safety Policy
SSI ‘s management has determined to adopt, pursue and communicate to all levels of the company, compliance with the principles and criteria set forth in the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, UNI EN ISO 45001:2023 Integrated Management System reference standard.
The Integrated Management System Manual (MSGI), to which this document is attached and forms an integral part, details all the actions and checks that are carried out to adequately and satisfactorily achieve the company’s environmental and safety objectives.
Awareness of the importance of implementing a policy aimed at minimizing the reduction of risks to the health and safety of staff and the environment has affectedcorporate identity to such an extent that it has become an essential component of its development model in which environment, health and safety represent values.
Goals and commitment to ensure occupational health and safety and environmental sustainability
The Management of S.S.I. Srl, through a set of rules and procedures, pursues the following objectives:
- Implement everything necessary and possible for the elimination of occupational health and safety hazards from which accidents, injuries and occupational diseases may result;
- Continuously monitor compliance with legislation, regulatory requirements and commitments made to stakeholders;
- Integrate occupational health and safety issues within the company’s business processes through careful assessment of all health and safety risks to its employees, contractors and visitors;
- Define the duties and responsibilities of all personnel actively involved in processes related to Occupational Health and Safety;
- protect the environment and pursue sustainable development by actively maintaining and improving control of its environmental aspects with a Management System;
- prevent possible pollution and minimize the environmental impacts of its activities, particularly those resulting from air emissions, waste management, energy consumption, fire prevention, and environmental noise management;
- Ensure that facilities, equipment, workplaces, operating methods and organizational aspects are carried out in such a way as to safeguard the safety of workers, company property, third parties and the community in which the company operates;
- Train and inform all workers on the specific hazards related to the occupation and those related to the type of facility through a suitable training plan;
- Promote communication, participation and consultation among all workers, in order to develop the awareness of personnel engaged in the various activities under their jurisdiction, improving their awareness of their own role and potential, both in relation to the prevention of risks inherent to health and safety, and for the purposes of the actions to be taken in situations of danger or emergency;
- consider prevention essential to achieve, as a result of the measures taken, an acceptable residual risk level for the company and at the regulatory level;
- Continuously monitor compliance with adopted procedures through control activities;
- To consolidate a cooperative relationship with all suppliers, achieving appropriate standards of safety and efficiency in process management.
Management is therefore committed to annually assessing and determining the intentions and development goals of the Integrated Environment and Safety Management System by drafting an internal planning document. Professionalism, know-how and competitiveness will be our working tools to pursue continuous improvement and create added value.
Specific and measurable objectives are defined annually, and their actual achievement is verified through continuous monitoring of the results achieved, the analysis of which forms the basis for periodic management review.
